  • Soybean meal is used as a protein supplement for pregnant and lactating mares, growing foals, and hobby and sport horses.

    The dosage amount of soybean meal is affected by the protein content of the roughage (hay) in use. If the protein content of the roughage is low, a larger amount of soybean meal is needed for feeding than when using roughage containing more protein. Make feeding changes gradually over 1-2 weeks.

    Soy is not genetically modified.


    Recommended dose (horse 500 kg):


    Foal, after weaning: 300 – 500 g/day
    Breeding mare, pregnancy months 9 - 11: 300 - 450 g/day
    Breeding mare, lactating 1 – 3 months: 500 – 800 g/day
    Breeding mare, nursing 4 months onwards: 300 – 450 g/day
    Race horse: 50 – 200 g/day
    With good-quality, abundant pasture, there is usually no need for a protein supplement. For indoor feeding and/or low-quality pasture, dose recommendation as above. There is no need to swell the soybean meal, but larger amounts can be moistened before feeding.
