    Is Nordic DHA Algae Oil suitable for all horses?
    Yes, it is an excellent supplement for horses of all ages and types, especially sport horses, older horses and horses with skin or joint problems.
    Dosage instructions
    Daily dose:
    • For maintenance: 2-5 ml per 100 kg horse weight.
    • For special needs (e.g. joint or skin problems): 5-8 ml per 100 kg horse weight.
    Introduction and palatability
    Nordic DHA Algae Oil is made from algae, which may have a new smell and taste to the horse. We recommenda slow acclimatisation: start with a very small dose and gradually increase the amount according to the horse's preferences until the target dose is reached.
    Feeding recommendation
    • The oil can be poured directly on top of other feed or mixed with mash.
    • Note: If you add oil to mash, the water temperature should not exceed42°C to avoid damaging valuable fatty acids.
    • You can give the entire daily ration at once or divide it into several feedings.
    For continuous use or as a lump sum
    The product is ideal as part of the horse's daily feed, but can also be used as a dry feed for acute needs.
    • Cure: We recommend a minimum of 3 months.
    • Effect: In many cases, changes are noticeable after only a few weeks. However, the best benefit is achieved with continued use as it takes time for the fatty acids to be absorbed into the cell membranes.
