Muslinge skaller (15kg)
Hedegaard Agro sales manager Svend Erik Olesen says:
"The bigger the egg, the thinner it should be. A hen lays bigger eggs the older she gets. That's why the need for shells increases with the age of the hen. However, the hen is so cleverly organized that she instinctively knows how much she needs - she doesn't take the shell more or less than needed.
The ground clam shells slowly dissolve in the chicken's body, giving the chicken the lime it needs to make the eggshell. The shell of the mussel, which is in a slow-absorbing form, stays inside the chicken longer, as the saying goes, and releases lime evenly as needed. And thus it benefits from the lime for a long time and the hen gets to make a good strong shell for her eggs that protects the egg, which is, after all, the most important purpose of the egg shell.
