Curcuma is a member of the ginger family and its rhizome contains curcumin, which helps the body function well. Turmeric is also rich in essential oil.

Criollo Curcuma also contains black pepper because its active ingredient, piperine, effectively increases the absorption of curcumin. Turmeric has antioxidant and antibacterial properties, among others. Turmeric is therefore called "natural cortisone".

Turmeric also reduces intestinal gases.

Turmeric contains components that help strengthen the body's defence systems.
