Sand Exit Stick (12.5kg) Nordic
- Product Description
Replaces the previously sold Psyllium pellet Optimal stick.
An effective supplement to help move sand to help the horse avoid excessive sand/soil build-up in the intestines
Nordic Optimal is a combination of psyllium husk, pressed flaxseed, rose hips and herbs. Psyllium seed husks help to get sand out of the intestines. Flaxseeds form a protective mucus that settles on the surface of the intestine while herbs and fodder yeast help maintain/restore a healthy intestinal system.
With its unique composition, Nordic Sand Exit helps ensure that the horse's digestive system functions optimally and sand accumulation is avoided - horses love the taste!
Use: As a preventive additive to help move sand out of the intestinal tract. As a preventive measure to eliminate the intestinal tract from sand accumulation and in case of acute accumulation of sand.Points to note:
When giving larger doses of psyllium seed husk, there are some factors that are important to consider:
-Always ensure that the horse is given roughage so that it is not hungry before distribution (this minimises the risk of oesophageal constipation).
-Be sure to divide the larger amount of psyllium seed coat into several portions, as the large amount of psyllium seed coat will reduce the absorption of other nutrients in the feed. They should be given either two hours before or two hours after feeding vitamins and minerals.
-Provide the horse with fresh, clean water after ingestion of the seed husks and at the same time top up with roughage. When the horse is forced to chew through large quantities of psyllium seed husks, they may in some cases become slightly sticky in the horse's mouth due to the mucus forming fibres. This is where water and roughage are a great help after ingestion.
Nordic Horse feeding guidelines:
20g/100 kg horse per day. Preventive: given as a cure for 14 days, followed by a 21-day break, repeated throughout the year. Can be fed either dry (make sure the horse drinks!) or puffed. 1dl=n.60gr
If sand tends to accumulate, Nordic Sand Exit can be given daily. If the horse has large accumulations, Nordic Sand Exit can be fed in larger amounts. In this case, divide the amount into several portions and give either 2 hours before or after vitamins and minerals. We also recommend in this situation to consult your veterinarian and follow his recommendations.
