High quality pelletized asparagus. Suitable for all horses who want to improve digestion and supplement the horse's nutrition with beneficial fibers, tannins and electrolytes found naturally in the asparagus.
Nordic E-cobs is an esparsette with a high content of condensed tannin. Tannins stabilize the intestinal environment and have a proven effect against foreign gut colonies. At the same time, the asparagus is rich in natural minerals and trace elements and replenishes the horse with fast-acting electrolytes.
Uses and benefits:
- Contains MANY long chain fibers
- Very high content of useful tannins
- Ideal roughage supplement for all horses all year round
- Gotta soak, perfect as a riot
- Add steady energy 8-10 hours after ingestion
- Ensures and improves a healthy intestinal flora - good for edema
- Plenty of good proteins
- As part of a 100% starch-free feeding plan
- The tannins in Esparsett have properties that are detrimental to foreign gut colonies
- Esparset easily benefits from gas-accumulating intestines
Nordic Horse feeding instructions:
Lactating mares: 0.5 to 1.5 kg per day
Growing young horses: 0.2-1 / kg. day
Free horses: 150 - 300 g per. day
Elderly / weak horses: 0.3 to 1 kg per. day
Sport and racing horses: 0.5 - 2 kg per. day according to the weight and workload of the horse.
Please note! The feed is fed swollen.
It must be soaked (1 kg of pellets in 2.5-3 liters of water for 45 minutes) When using hot water, the swelling time can be shortened.
No starch, but high in fiber
Esparsette is a legume closely related to alfalfa. But unlike alfalfa, asparagus does not contain estrogen-interfering substances (phytoestrogens). The asparagus we use contains less than 0.1% starch and consists of long complex carbohydrates that increase stable energy 8-10 hours after ingestion without affecting blood sugar. Benefits also for the digestive tract of horses.

Carefully harvested and carefully air-dried asparagus plants, compressed into 6 mm pellets.

Tannin:
Tannins are a substance in chemical groups called phenolic compounds and are called the bitter substances that are probably best known for the production of tea and wine. Common to phenolic compounds is that they can bind to proteins and precipitate in a solution with a neutral or basic pH. This means that the proteins in the feed containing tannins are bound and are complete to degrade the colon microorganisms without straining the horse's internal organs. Plants form tannins as protection against pathogenic (disease-causing) microorganisms, especially fungi. Thus, the tannin content of horse feed prevents unwanted fungal and bacterial growth.
Storage and shelf life:
Because Nordic Horse products are 100% natural and free of additives, proper storage is important for sustainability. The feed should be stored in a dry, cool place and not in direct sunlight - preferably in a closed container. Preferably, keep the feed in the stable for a long time before use.
